Website Observations

Here are some of the properties of previous websites that were used in past websites that I thought were very effective in making the pages productive. One of the authors makes her readings come to life by using a variety of fonts and colors which make certain words pop at at the viewer. Aside from visual stuff, she emphasizes questions as ways of posing certain standpoints. The second person’s site I came across uses statistics as one of the pages to her website to add credibility; to let the reader know that the content of her pages are legitimate and full of facts rather than all opinion. The last characteristic I noticed is that several people used appeals to pathos so that the reader sympathizes with the characters targeted in the hypertext. Putting emotion in readings allows the readers to feel connected to the subject of the text, therefore helping them reach a better understanding as well as getting more out of the reading.
