Irresponsible Fathers Topic Proposal:

I chose to write about irresponsible fathers because there’s so many children in the U.S deprived of having a fatherly figure due to the negligence of their fathers. Fathers can be irresponsible in many different ways. The most common way a father is irresponsible is the act of leaving the mother with the duty to take care of the baby by herself as a single mother. Because men don’t carry the baby within their womb, it is easy for them to simply leave with no attachments or commitments. They can just tell women, it’s not my problem, you deal with it or get rid of it. Another way men can be irresponsible fathers is if although they do take up the responsibility of responding to the mother, they neglect their child by going out with friends and leaving the mom at home all day. Now and days, many young adults are having children and since they are on the beginning of their adulthood, they tend to want to continue a normal life by going out with friends and partying without taking the responsibility of taking care of their children. Also, fathers can be irresponsible by being drug addicts. They may be there with the mother, and be at home all the time, but under the influence of drugs, is not the way someone should take care of their children. In this situation, the children are exposed to many horrific things. They have to see their father act crazy, say crazy things, yell out of the nowhere, argue with their mother and sometimes even use physical violence against their mother. This is can definitely write a lot about because although I didn’t experience it personally, my niece and nephew did experience it and under my own home. I have been the witness of the actions that the worst irresponsible father can do.
